How it plays

A bigger table

Same race, more pirates, and a few new rules for the extra seats.

  1. Seven or eight pirates

    Two new colours

    Two more captains join the race in white and brown. More bets on the table, more people to lie to.

  2. Cities of Greed at eight

    Rules for the extra seats

    Two captains play without City cards. The 7th still gets a city and starts with a bonus coin. The 8th has no city, but starts with the Mayor's Die and a bonus coin. Both get Influence cards like everyone else.

  3. Merchant & Navy

    Fan-inspired variant

    Two roaming ships join the map. Barter with the Merchant for a cheaper Action card, or raid it and risk your coins. Meet the Navy and you have to fight. With 5 or 6 players, these are the two ships from this pack.

Yes. It works with both the Base Game and the Big Box.

Can we play Cities of Greed with eight?

Yes. Two captains play without City cards: the 7th gets a city and a bonus coin, the 8th starts with the Mayor's Die and a bonus coin.
