How to Play Lying Pirates
Bluff, Sail, and Conquer
Lying Pirates is a fast-paced pirate dice game for 2–6 players that combines strategic movement, daring bets, and clever card play. Race your ship around the islands, survive brutal confrontations, and be the first pirate to return home victorious.
At its core, Lying Pirates is one of the most exciting bluffing games you’ll play. Easy to learn, hard to master, and endlessly replayable.
Every decision matters, and every bluff could change the outcome.
Betting PHase
Cutthroat Bluffing
Inspired by classic dice betting games, players roll hidden crew dice and wager on totals—raising, locking, or calling a bluff at exactly the right moment.
Roll your crew dice, bluff on totals, raise, lock, or call liar: winner leads, loser skips, survivors tag along.
Sail Phase
Treacherous Seas
The leader rolls the sail die and advances ships 1–2 tiles onto unique event tiles, each with its own effect.
The winner and survivors then enter a Tile Event Battle, using battle dice to determine who gets to resolve the tile event.
Action Phase
Ruthless Ambition
Players may play their Gold or Silver cards, using them to attack rivals, defend against threats, or influence the game in other ways.

Excellent game! I bought it after friend showed me. Worth every cent. The only thing I wish the big box came with is the ghost dice. I thought this dice just added that little bit extra but it seems to only come with the kickstarter box unfortunately. Still worth getting! If you haven’t played with the ghost dice version you won’t care it’s not there 😝
I love the game, but also the inserts, which are of outstanding quality. It keeps all the components so well organized, and even in the original game box. Well done!
Ahoy! This was a "spur of the moment" purchase as were looking at ways to play games in person. I had seen the ads for this for a little while and decided to go all out with the BIG BOX.
I must say that it was worth every dollar spent on this!
The packaging and the product quality is outstanding and you can see that the team have spent a lot of time developing this with passion.
The first game was a bit longer than we anticipated but since then it has become faster and more streamline with more sessions.
The amount of on-hand information available will make this easy for anyone to pick-up and the scope of the expansion board/add-ons make the replayability endless!

Very easy to assemble with the exception of the containers for individual players' pieces (component 'F,' I think). That was very tricky.
I also bought the components to add two extra players, and now I have nowhere to store them. :( And if I remember correctly, the two-players addition does not contain everything needed to play the Cities of Greed expansion.
